Happy New Year Members!!
Your Club started off 2025 with a very active and successful Levee held at the Carriage House at Beaconsfield. Approximately 300 people dropped by to wish us all Happy New Year and have a few refreshments. We pretty well ran out of food so next year we will order more and have a slide show on the Carriage House screen. We want to build on what we do each year! Lots of guests were interested in learning more about Rotary and we had handouts for those folks. We also directed them to our social media accounts which are a running commentary on all our programs and projects.
The Premiers Dinner is scheduled for January 27th in Summerside. All Clubs on PEI are involved in the program. Tickets are $75 and you can e transfer you money to rotarychtown@gmail.com. Numbers must be in by January 10th to secure your seat.
Just a reminder that our exchange student Lisa is here to experience new adventures on PEI so if go to an event or have a family gathering you think she might like get in touch with Member Peter MacDougald and he will gladly arrange with Lisa to attend.
Director of Environmental Action Ginny McGowan will be updating us at our next meeting about our newest Club fundraiser (Seed Sales) which we hope you all will support.
We had a wonderful speaker in Marion Harris at our latest meeting who spoke about her involvement in Beacons East which is a non profit working in Ethiopia. She was a true inspiration to us all in the work she and her family do to ensure better lives for those in Ethiopia. Marion is from PEI and lives half of the year here and the other half in Africa.
