June was another very busy month for the Club.

Our Environmental Chair Ginny in conjunction with Members and the City of Charlottetown launched the Pollinator Garden Project which saw over 150 plantings in the plot behind the West Royalty Community Centre.  Signage and benches will be added as next steps. Drop by and see this amazing garden which represents the first pollinator garden planted in the City for 20 years. Thank you to all who turned out to help plant.

The Adopt a Corner plot was planted for the Club and we hope all these adopted corners add to the enjoyment of the City landscape.

The Strive Scholarships were presented at a Club meeting at the Rodd Hotel and it was a great success for all our students and Members. The 10 recipients spoke of their journeys and were very grateful to received the $1500 scholarships. They are on to post secondary studies at various Universities and Holland College. Congratulations to all and we wish them all well in their future endeavors. Thank you to all those Members who year after year make Strive such as success! Next year we will be expanding Strive to the Rural and an additional 10 scholarships.

We have been fortunate to receive a $3000 grant that goes towards Strive. Thank you PDG Duncan for his efforts.

These scholarships and all our donations whether local or international could not be possible without the weekly Bingo fundraiser under the dedicated leadership of PP Paul.  We need volunteers to spell the regulars. Sign up with Paul asap.

Congrats to Director Richard McEwen for being awarded the Coach of the Year by the PEI Curling Association. Helping all ages, including our youth, enjoy a sport is one of the most significant endeavors our Members can promote.

Congratulations to long time Member Allison Swan for 60 years in the funeral business providing care to families on PEI. Allision is a generational Rotary Member and he and his family of Rotarians has contributed to the success of our Club in many ways through the years.

Your Club joined with the Summerside and Royalty Clubs in hosting visiting Rotarians from Peru as part of the Friendship Exchange. As well as tours of the Island they were treated to a reception at the Haviland Club and were hosted by various families in Summerside and Charlottetown. They went on to attend the RI Conference in Calgary. Lovely folks.

The Conference in Calgary went very well. Attending from your Club were your President, Incoming President Randy, PP Najam & PDG Duncan. One of the most important notes from that Conference is that the Gates Foundation will again match donations 2 to 1 in the Eradication of Polio. We are about 95.5% there according to their recent data. "Where Polio is anywhere it is a threat to everywhere".

The president of the WHO spoke and congratulated Rotary for having the audacity to dream that polio could be eradicated and the tenacity to carry that dream through.

Your Club supported a booth representing all the Clubs of Prince Edward Island in the House of Friendship. Peace Fellow Susan Hartley represented the Clubs with items from all our Clubs and information on PEI. it was a great success. Thank you Susan for this initiative.

We are 1.2 million Members strong with 46,000 Clubs worldwide.

In this my final bulletin as President I want to single out a Director who does not get the attention nor the glory she deserves. That is our Treasurer Emma Fugate. Whether at the Boardroom table or behind the scenes she has devoted the last 4 plus years to our Club's financial well being. Preparing budgets, balancing the books, managing multiple accounts and contributing to mentorship in the Strive Program Emma is the epitome of People of Action that is the cornerstone of Rotary. I know that all the Presidents before me are so very grateful for her support and pray that she will continue to lead us to more successful years as a Club. Thank you very much Emma from myself, the Board and our Members.

Thank you to all my Board for your continued support and as they say I couldn't have done it without you!

PE Randy may you have a wonderful year in Rotary as our President and you can count on me for any support you may require. You will be a steady hand at the tiller. My one piece of advice is to ask for advice. It takes a village to be President.

To all my Members you have made my year meaningful and impactful as your President. It has been an honor.
